I often get asked “So what’s with the name My Burning Kitchen?”
Well, this site it started off as a place where I would place where I would post my all my cooking mistakes. And believe me, when I first started out, there were many.
I ruined pans. I’ve lost count on the amount of times I’ve set off the fire alarm. And things that were inedible became legendary.
So while this site has since evolved from cooking disasters to reviews, cooking success and sometimes a place to just hang my opinion, I’ve kept the name because I’ve had it for just a long darn time — since 2007 to be exact.
While you’re still scratching your head trying to make sense of it all, check out these posts about the name.
HI Darlene,
I’ve been reading your blog for a few months and love the fact that you talk about failures. Something we all forget sometimes is to actually test the things we make even if it’s a little scary to find out they’re not all that.
Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much for the kind and inspiring words, Stefanie!
Hey D, tried to send an email but it got bounced. Showed my husband your site, he pointed out that he loved the interview with Giada de Laurentis and wanted to reach out in the spirit of giving.
He’s done some videos for a UK golf magazine for marketing and offered to help you film a little if it’s of interest. Again, no catch just want to support a great website, but I think the work here is great!
Thanks for reaching out! My email is a bit tricky and will bounce if you don’t have double e’s in the middle: darleneeats[at]gmail.com.
Great! I’ll let him know to email you
