Food Trucks In (Or Coming To) San Diego: Dos Equis & Nutella

Dos Equis Truck

Keep your eye out for the Dos Equis and Nutella food trucks, both making stops here along their U.S. tour.

Dos Equis MiHo Gastrotruck

Dos Equis — in conjunction with MIHO Gastrotruck — is offering free food (!) throughout San Diego County to promote their Most Interesting Academy. The truck is serving up wild hare paella, prawn samosas and octopus tostada. You can choose to taste one, two or all three. (My favorite is the delicately seasoned samosa topped with mint chutney.)

The tour wraps up this Saturday but if you happen to be in either San Francisco or Albuquerque, you can have a sample of other foods including itlog na maalat (pickled duck egg from Hapa SF) or a rattlesnake tamale.

They are giving away tastes until this Saturday, October 13 (schedule below) but it’s best to follow their Twitter updates for last-minute changes.

On November 30, Nutella will be making a stop in San Diego with previous stops in Washington, D.C. (Oct. 16), Atlanta (Oct. 24), Orlando (Oct. 30), New Orleans (Nov. 7) and Phoenix (Nov. 24). Check their tour dates on their Facebook page.

If it’s anything like the previous food brand tours I’ve been seeing, there will be lots of good food to sample and maybe even someone dressed up as a Nutella jar.

  1. The Nutella truck was in NYC too but knowing the lines were gonna be insane (kinda like the time when Trojan gave out free vibrators for three days – I’m not kidding), I didn’t even try to make it :/
