During the summer months, ice cream is my vice. Doubly so if it's ice cream cake. My birthday ice cream was late by a month for several reasons but that didn't mean I didn't enjoy it as much as I usually do. The cake had coffee ice cream with white cake. No, no. This wasn't my... Continue Reading →
There’s something to be said for living near Hillcrest
Pride week in Hillcrest has come to a close. I knew it was officially the start of Pride weekend when I woke up Saturday morning to the sound of "Freedom" by Wham played by a passing car. I didn't participate in any activities such as the Gay Pride Parade or attend the Bow Wow Wow... Continue Reading →
Sick food favorites
Actually I think I'm finally on the mend. I was able to go to the gym this morning and a number of things before 7 a.m. I'm back my regular schedule. Since I had so much time on my hands this weekend, I focused on what I ate. Not the usual food it turns out... Continue Reading →
Aching to go anywhere…
Being ill and stuck at home has me aching to go someplace far from San Diego and far from my sick, hot, tired bed. I've been trying to catch up on my reading (JSA tradepaperbacks on insistence of a friend, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix again and various magazines that fill my... Continue Reading →
Still coughing
I'm still not at 100% healthwise. Today I managed to struggle through an entire day at work with short interludes of going to the bathroom to hack up a storm. I guess I've officially fallen off the wagon regarding my addiction to Nyquil in order for me to get a good night's rest. So I've... Continue Reading →
I’ve been taken out by the Comic Con
I had an entire week off and yet near the end of the Comic Con, I was taken out by a sore throat. Despite feeling crappy Monday morning, I still trudged off to work but didn't complete my work day so I can go home and sleep. It always seems a bit suspicious when a... Continue Reading →
You know it’s Comic Con week in San Diego…
...when hotdog vendors dress like this. Captain America on hardtimes. Another unwilling victim of Comic Con. Even the Green Lantern Corp. have to take a lunch. More photos from Comic Con here.
A dare
If given enough incentive, I would paint my stomach (similiar to Mariah Carey's above) and go to the gym with a painted on six pack. My trainer would think I was more insane than previously believed. More fun, snarky items at The Superficial.
Bragging rights?
Well, don't know if I can brag that I saw the Fantastic Four movie days before the nationwide release. Maybe not, since I was sorely disappointed. All action sequences were in the trailer so there were no surprises to me. But I'll keep mum until Friday and check out the general consenses.
Another item from my lost weekend
Pretty, pretty Mothra kicking the living daylight out of the big, bad monster with chainsaws for hands. How do you say 'no' to someone begging you to go with them to see "Godzilla: Final Wars?" Especially since it was the only showing here in the U.S.? Especially since it was the last day of the showing?... Continue Reading →
