They have the wackiest hotels in Germany

In 2002, I took a whirlwind trip through Amsterdam, Berlin, Luxembourg and London in the span of a week. It wasn’t a trip ushered by a tour group so I had the challenge to find my own lodging.

For Berlin, I did some research and found Propeller Island,, a very cool artsy hotel. Since I stayed in the middle of the week it wasn’t very busy and lucky enough to my own room of choice. I chose the Glas House room, which was conservative by the other choices available to me. I do want to go back and visit and maybe try another room or maybe even check out this hotel with rooms in a tree. My only complaint about Propeller Island was the lack of a television set in the room — only because I wanted to check if there was any crazy German programming besides topless weather reports.
