These are the people in my neighborhood

Mission Nights

I love my neighborhood. Almost everything is within walking distance. Or if I dare, I can bike there as well. Mission Hills is centrally located in San Diego: downtown is only three miles away and it takes me 15 minutes to get to work.

Recently, Mission Hills has been hosting Mission Nights every third Wednesday of the month from 6-8 p.m. The foot traffic doubles in this already busy neighborhood and it’s a nice opportunity to mingle with shop owners and neighbors. Stores are open a bit later giving people a chance to peruse the shops and restaurants.

Venissimo Cheese

What I enjoy most is the food. Already well-known shops like Venissimo Cheese and City Wok offer samples and a chance to sign up for deals sent via email. The most intriguing of all is the availability of wine at U.S. Bank while you viewing current interest rates. And with the interest rates currently available, an alcoholic beverage is certainly needed.

Mark you calendars: Mission Nights happens again tomorrow night with September being the last event until next year.

  1. What about that cookie store/drug running outfit? I demand Paul take me there next time. For drugs. And cookies.

  2. Oh cool, that totally missed my radar, I live in mission hills too! I'm busy tonight but I'll definitely try for the september one!

  3. I love a good walking neighborhood — and food is a must! Mine is becoming more and more walkable, but it's always been pretty bikable, which is almost as good.

  4. =\ I do like your 'hood. Friends and I used to always lament the fact that we didn't/couln't find housing there.University City is just about the most boring place there is -_-
