Reno, here I come!

This past week has been a mismash of settling down at my new place, adjusting to a new roommate (who hasn’t cleaned the floors since last July for the record) and getting ready for my long weekend in Reno.

This is about my fifth visit to the Biggest Little City in the world. I still have some apprehension of visiting since the first trip there also shares the date with the most deadly terrorist attack on U.S. soil in history. The memory of watching the images of the airplanes crashing into the New York’s World Trade Center while being surrounded by the bustling noise of the casino is carved into my consciousness.

That memory aside, Reno is a sleepy city. Slower than the fast paced, Neon brightness of Las Vegas but still has all the debauchery. After all, it was home to the Mustang Ranch. But I won’t be participating in any of those things that people come for but visiting people and enjoying some time off from work with a lot of good, cheap eating. Photo updates of my adventures to come…
